Final Fresher's Week Catch Up

Hi Everyone,

Well after an exhausting but exciting week, I'm pleased to say Fresher's week is over! Thank you everyone for all of your prayer and support throughout the week, it's been really appreciated.

It's such a privilege to serve God by being on the committee because you can see just so clearly how he works through us and provides for us. Though I must say I imagine it would be nice to just enjoy the events without having the concern of how they will turn out- when you have such a concern and God completely eradicates any need for such concern, it's a truly great feeling.

So, going back to Thursday evening. This was our first main CU meeting of the year. Through this we hoped to give the Fresher's an idea of what the CU mission team is about and how we run on a weekly basis. It was great to see how many people there were who were simply interested in either working for Jesus on campus or wanting to find out more about him, rather than being attracted to an event where they are given free food.

The worship that night was so powerful, you would have thought we had been singing together as a group for years. Also, the talk from our speaker, Paul, was fantastic and really got across the message of why we aim to reach out to our campus.

Moving onto yesterday, we had our 'Quiz night' again this was a really fun event and there were a few faces that I hadn't seen throughout the rest of the week which was fantastic. It's always great to see people who just may be having seeds planted in them, now we would just really appreciate your prayers for those seeds to have landed on good soil.

Our speaker, Steve, gave a talk that reached out to all kinds of people in the room. And if I didn't know Christ already I must say, he would have encouraged me to read the Bible and check him out.

This week was manic, but God has provided when we couldn't and he has fixed things that we didn't God has been so good. Fresher's week may be over but our mission isn't stopping so please do keep supporting us and praying for us.

God bless you all
Jennie

  1. It was a privilege to come and share God's word during freshers week. Keeping up via the blog and please be assured of our prayers. Let me know if specific things come up for prayer. In Christ Jesus. Paul Linnell. Deuteronomy 31;8
